Indian Catholic Youth Movement Madanthyar unit had organized inter ward kabaddi and Lagori tournament on Sunday 6,January 2019 at Sacred Heart P. U college ground.

The program commenced at 10.30 am. Rev. Fr. Basil Vas- parish priest, Madanthyar Church presided over the programme and chief guest Fr. Lancy Lewis - superior of Asha deepa, The assistant parish priest of Madanthyar Fr. Alwyn Dsouza and Fr. Alwyn Dsouza SJ, Principal of SHPU college Fr. Jerome Dsouza, parish council secretary Leo Rodrigues, ICYM Belthangady Deanary president Vivian Fernandes, ICYM Madanthyar president Ronson Veigas, sports secretary Avil Dsouza were the dignitaries on the dais of the inaugural programme.

The program was inaugurated by lighting up the lamp by the guests. President of ICYM Madanthyar welcomed the guests and the gathering. Fr. Basil Vas addressed the gathering with his presidential speech and wished best of luck to all. Avil Dsouza - sports secretary proposed vote of thanks and Lavita Fernandes - Secretary of ICYM Madanthyar unit compered the inaugural programme.

Events like Lagori for women and Kabaddi day night match for men were conducted successfully. 18 teams among 22 Wards participated actively. Mother Theresa ward won the Lagori match and Our Lady of Dolores ward won kabaddi match. Winners were awarded with cash prize and trophies. All the ward gurkars and ward representatives extended their support to this event.
