In the Diocese of Mangalore, there is a long tradition of honoring our blessed Mother with flowers, Novena, family reunion and blessing of the New corn.

30 August 2020 marks the begining of Novena for Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary and at Sacred Heart Church, Madanthyar we inaugurated and celebrated the novena at 8:00am mass.

Around 400 parishioners were present for the Novena and the Eucharistic celebration and they took part with great devotion.

As they entered, thermal scanning, sanitisation and the detailed registration was done. Then as per the guidelines issued by the Diocese of Mangalore for the novena, each member offered a flower to Mother Mary.

Novena was conducted by Rev Fr Basil Vas and the Holy Eucharist was presided over by Rev Fr Jerome Dsouza.

Volunteers from the parish Covid committee ensured that all Covid-19 norms issued by the government were followed.
